Live rosin, resin, badder and more — the strong end of the menu
Concentrates are cannabis with the plant material stripped away, leaving the resin. They are the most potent products in the store, and the category where the gap between good and mediocre is widest.
“Live” on a label means the plant was frozen immediately after harvest rather than dried first, which preserves volatile terpenes that would otherwise be lost. It is the main reason live products taste more like the plant smelled.
Rosin is made mechanically — heat and pressure only. Resin, shatter and most badders use a solvent such as butane or CO₂, which is then purged. Both are tested for residual solvents before they can be sold in Mississippi. Solventless commands a premium mostly on flavour and purity preference, not because solvent-based products are unsafe.
If you are coming from flower, concentrates are a significant step up in potency. A dose is genuinely tiny — the size of a grain of rice is a reasonable starting point, and many patients use less. Effects arrive within a minute or two, so you will know quickly.
Cool, dark and sealed. Concentrates degrade with heat and light faster than flower does, and warm concentrate turns into a texture that is difficult to work with. Most patients keep theirs in the original container in a drawer, not a windowsill.

Mississippi measures purchases in MMECU (Mississippi Medical Equivalency Cannabis Units), where 1 MMECU = 1,000mg THC = 3.5g of flower.
